Replaces back-lit ETDRS illuminated cabinets with automated protocol for greater accuracy and reliability
Each presentation is randomized thereby eliminating the memorization effect and is consistent and repeatable
Background luminance is carefully calibrated to 85 cd/m2 for standardized ANSI and ISO testing or any other background luminance from 80 to 320 cd/m2 or as required for a study
Calibrate the system in meters at virtually any distance; is adjustable and precise to within 1 cm
Forced calibration compliance prior to each subject test
Eliminates technician bias and erroneous data collection; streamlines test results
Eliminates manual recording and collection and dissemination of associated data

USE & OPERATION

The system is controlled by a high resolution tablet via a standard Bluetooth connection utilizing our CustomLink® technology
The testing mechanism interfaces seamlessly with CTS (Clinical Trial Suite) to allow the technician to follow the protocol as determined by the sponsor
The protocol displays a single letter surrounded by crowding bars to simulate the crowding effect
The subject responds accordingly and the technician simply inputs “correct” or “incorrect” which is followed by a prompt of “are you sure”, allowing the technician to re-enter if a mistake was made
The chart then randomizes, displays another optotype and continues through the algorithm until VA threshold is established
When the test is complete the results are reported in the standard ETDRS Letter Score, Visual Acuity equivalent and logMAR equivalent
