FEATURES
- Conduct CSF testing at 18, 12, 6, 3 and 1.5 cycles-per-degree at either photopic or mesopic luminance levels
- Contrast levels start at 0.6 log units above normative data allowing for expedited test time
- The system is precisely calibrated for both distance-to-subject and pixels-per-inch so that optotypes precisely follow ANSI Z80.21-2020 and ISO 8596:2017 regarding size
- Background luminance is standardized and calibrated to 85 cd/m2 to comply with ANSI and ISO testing, with certification on brightness, contrast and color temperature
- The system is designed with the maximum response time to eliminate the focusing effect and predetermined screen blanking time, and to allow the retina to refresh between displays
- Average test time is less than 8 minutes per eye
- Test time can lower to 2-3 minutes for existing patients by starting at 0.3 log units above previously stored values
- Test results can be exported to any media file in any format for statistical analysis
USE & OPERATION
- The system is controlled by a high-resolution tablet via a standard Bluetooth connection utilizing our CustomLink® technology
- The testing mechanism interfaces seamlessly with CTS (Clinical Trial Suite) to allow the technician to follow the protocol as determined by the sponsor
- The test begins with a four-entry training phase where the system will present four distinct linear orientations
- Based on the subject’s response, the technician presses the appropriate display and the training completes after all four have been entered correctly
- The algorithm begins with preselected cycles-per-degree and the subject indicates the orientation of the sine grating with a corresponding cue card
- Based on the subject’s response, the technician presses the orientation on the tablet
- The algorithm advances until threshold is determined and then begins the next required cycle-per-degree as mandated by the sponsor protocol
- Threshold is determined through each cycle, then presented at the completion of the protocol with a graph and normative data
- Data can then be exported to any file for collection and interpretation
